<<Return to LaboratoryDetails
The NML Syphilis Serology Proficiency Program is designed to test the performance of laboratories conducting a variety of treponemal and non-treponemal tests. In a calendar year, each participant receives 2 panels consisting of 5 sera each for syphilis testing. They will receive a report including their results compared to expected results as well as an annual report at the end of the year. Participants include provincial laboratories of public health, hospitals, Canadian Blood Services, private companies and the Caribbean Epidemiology Centre (CAREC) along with their affiliates. Our ultimate goal is to improve laboratory services across Canada and other countries in the serodiagnosis of syphilis. This program is provided free of charge to participants.
